Longest suspension bridge in the world
The 1915 Çanakkale Bridge is currently under construction by the Consortium of Daelim and SK E&C, along with Turkish companies Limak Holding and Yapı Merkezi (DLSY JV). The bridge will connect both sides of Dardanelles Strait and when opened to traffic in 2023, which marks the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic, the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge will be the longest suspension bridge in the world with 2023 meters main suspension span and tower height of 318 meters. The bridge will carry three (3) lanes of vehicular highway traffic in each direction, with a minimum width of 3.65 m for each lane. The whole project will connect the Marmara Highway ring line with Osmangazi Bridge, Istanbul-Izmir Highway, Northern Marmara Highway, and the other connection highways between Istanbul-Balikesir and Çanakkale. The final step of the ring project is to be completed with the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge. All projects are being concluded with the Construct-Operate-Transfer model.
